Jurrell Casey is ‘super motivated’ after being traded by Titans

It won’t be long before the Tennessee Titans have to meet Jurrell Casey again after trading him to the Denver Broncos on Wednesday. In fact, the Titans face the Broncos in 2020 in what will be a road game for Tennessee.

When talking to the Denver media for the first time, Casey made it clear that while he was shocked by the news of the Titans trading him, he’s now “super motivated” for next season, per Paul Kuharsky.

“It made me super motivated. You’re always surprised when it happen,” Casey said. “It definitely was a shocker, but you know, it is part of the business. Would I say I expected it? No, but did I know it possibly could come? It’s just how business works. I’m not a stranger to it. I’ve seen it happen to plenty of guys around the building. I knew it was possibly coming soon. I didn’t think it would come this fast, but it’s all business and business has got to be done.”

In exchange for Casey, the Titans received a seventh-round pick. Of course, that is a very minimal return for a defensive stalwart and fan-favorite like Casey, which makes the move a salary dump.

General manager Jon Robinson must have something big up his sleeve with the extra money or else he’s going to hear it from fans and experts alike. You simply don’t deal away a player like Casey without having a backup plan.

But then again it’s the 2020 offseason and as we’ve seen plenty of times already, anything is possible.
