Jurgen Klopp will have spotted next Diogo Jota as Ralf Rangnick makes Liverpool squad claim

Here is your Liverpool morning digest for Saturday, December 4.

Jurgen Klopp has already spotted his next Diogo Jota

Everybody knows what Jurgen Klopp's brand of football looks like.

The German is renowned for his intense, offensive and emotional playing style, having successfully installed his principles into his players at Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Mainz.

One of the many perks associated with having such a clearly defined identity is recruitment, as it tends to make it easier to identify players who are suitable for a refined and established style of play.

Klopp's transfer dealings have been unsurprisingly strong throughout his career, especially at Anfield considering the number of world-class players within his current squad.

The 54 year-old knows what he wants from his team, which allows him to notice players who seem to be shaped to represent him, such as Diogo Jota.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool's weekend clash with Wolves at Molineux, Klopp described Jota as a player who he had previously admired for some time before targeting.

"Diogo is an incredible package. Personality, really smart, organised, structured in a nice way," he said. "His career, I remember when I saw him first time I thought he'd be a player for me. So intense in all situations, technically on a great level. Incredible quality."

Rangnick begins his tenure at Old Trafford as he prepares to work with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.

After arriving on Merseyside, Klopp’s task at hand was huge but he was able to turn a side who finished eighth into Champions League and Premier League winners.

The gulf between the Premier League’s top three of Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool to the rest of the league is huge and Rangnick highlighted how that gulf has come in time.

"When Jurgen came to Liverpool, the squad he had at the time was definitely not better than the one we have here,” said Rangnick.

"It's about winning games and, in the end, I'm very ambitious. We want to make the most successful season that is possible.

“Right now, we have to be realistic. The difference between us and the top three is big. But let's see."
