Jurgen Klopp warns Liverpool about 'nervous moments' as title race heats up

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has warned his player there will be "nervous moments" as the Premier League title race heats up in the coming weeks.

The Reds, who are five points ahead of defending champions Manchester City at the top of the table, drew 1-1 at home to Leicester City on Wednesday, prompting questions about their ability to stay the course as tension mounts in the run-in.

Had Liverpool beaten Leicester they would have pulled seven points clear, but Klopp's men could find themselves below City in the standings as early as Wednesday if results go against them in the coming days.

"Yes, there is pressure," Klopp told the club website.

"There was pressure last year, a lot of pressure when we played Manchester City away in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and we dealt with it.

"There was pressure (in the Champions League semi-finals) at Rome, there was pressure in so many moments in the Premier League. We had to win each game.

"Will there be nervous moments? Yes, for sure. Don't make them bigger than they are because there were nervous situations last year, two years ago, three years ago. That is part of football.
