Jurgen Klopp told Lazio star who 'sacrifices himself' would be ideal signing for Liverpool

Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been told that he is good enough to play for Liverpool in the near future.

The Serbia international has been a mainstay in the Lazio team since his arrival from Genk in 2015.

Since moving to the Stadio Olimpico nearly six years ago, Milinkovic-Savic has made 241 appearances for Lazio, scoring 46 goals and providing 37 assists for his team-mates, which includes former Liverpool playmaker Luis Alberto.

Former Italy international Antonio Cassano believes that Milinkovic-Savic has the ability to play for a club like Liverpool, and believes the 26-year-old has taken his game to another level.

“In the past, Milinkovic never exalted me, but now he has evolved and grown,” Cassano told Bobo TV, via Lazio News 24 .

“He knows how to play anywhere and knows how to sacrifice himself.”

“He could also play in top clubs, like Manchester United or Liverpool. To Real instead of Modric? There they look for a different player and then they have Valverde.

“Obviously, going up one step, it will have to be confirmed. But it deserves a great opportunity.”

Cassano continued: “His maturation is complete and the credit is obviously due to Inzaghi, who is doing an amazing job with him, Immobile, Correa and Luis Alberto. And then he also won some trophies "
