Liverpool's summer plans, like everyone else's, are set to be severely disrupted in what will be a blow to Jurgen Klopp.
The German is known to be a huge believer in pre-season being hugely influential in his team's chances of success for the following campaign, valuing that sustained period on the training field with his players extremely highly.
But with there set to be little turnaround time between the end of the current campaign and the beginning of the next season - perhaps as little as two weeks - he will be denied that period, it seems, in 2020.
After spending the last two pre-seasons, at least in part, on tour in the US, Liverpool were thought to be contemplating a one-off fixture in Asia, with the majority of their time spent closer to Merseyside, perhaps in Scandinavia.
Those plans, though, will now have been shelved.
As Liverpool correspondent Paul Gorst said during a live Q&A session on the Liverpool ECHO website, things will be a little different to say the least thanks to the coronavirus disruption.
He outlined: "I think pre-season this summer will essentially just be traditional Melwood training that you would get during a normal campaign.
"With the Premier League hopefully ended at the beginning of August, the players might just have a small time period off and then back to work.
"They'll certainly be no tours this summer."
Even though Klopp loves to use this time to drill his players and get them used to the system that he employs, all clubs will be in the same position.
With their league title set to be wrapped up with several matches to spare this season, though, Klopp could also treat the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign - once their Premier League crown is mathematically confirmed - as the Reds' pre-season instead.
That they are so far ahead of the pack and could wrap up the title as early as the Merseyside derby could prove to be a significant advantage next season too, then, should the Reds be able to utilise the rest of this campaign as their preparation time for the next.
