Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool have been signing some big names of late, but they are the club's existing players rather than expensive additions from elsewhere.
Some Liverpool supporters have grown agitated that the Reds have failed to add a senior player to their ranks ever since being crowned European champions at the end of last season.
Teenagers Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott are the only new faces to arrive at Anfield this summer, but their tender ages mean that it could be some time until either of them are seen in competitive action for the club.
But several of the Reds' senior stars - including all three of their celebrated attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane - have signed new long-term contracts in the past 15 months.
Full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson penned fresh terms in January, while Champions League hero Divock Origi signed a new deal earlier this month.
Klopp insists that these are Liverpool's 'transfers', and says that they send out a signal to the rest of the football world that the Reds mean business.
"That's actually our transfers, but nobody's interested in hearing that really because that's how it is," he told ESPN FC .
"You have a player, he's good, you want to keep him, if he signs a new contract then for a few people, it means only that he will be more expensive when we sell him or whatever, or that it doesn't mean anything nowadays.
"In our case, these are our transfers. The new contracts and keeping these boys here is a strong, strong signal for the outside world. It's wonderful sign, to be honest.
"I like the fact that these boys are really at a good football age. They won the European Cup, which is good and helps of course because it increases your base."
The Reds are next in action on Wednesday, when they face Lyon in Geneva.
