Klopp talks 'Liverpool future'

Work officially began on the 7,000-seat expansion of Anfield Road on Thursday when Jurgen Klopp put the first spade in the ground at a special ceremony at Anfield.

Giving a speech to those at the event before putting the ceremonial spade in the ground, Klopp said the £60million development of Anfield Road is evidence of the dedication to growth after a difficult 18 months because of the coronavirus pandemic.

"It will be massive," Klopp said. "Everything's better with fans.

"We can see that now with the supporters [back inside Anfield] again, everything is much better, much more emotional, much more driven.

"Having 53,000 there is not bad already to be honest, it felt like 100,000 so I can't imagine how 60,000 will feel.

"But now it will be over 60,000 and I absolutely love the idea.

"Since I've been here and not because I am here, but since I am here, a lot of things have happened and with all the great history of this club.

"Everybody is really about building the future of this club."
