Jurgen Klopp takes aim at Manchester United fan for bemoaning Liverpool FC success

Jurgen Klopp is never shy of voicing his opinion especially when it comes to Liverpool's rivalry with Manchester United.

And the Anfield boss has told a United fan that he should not bemoan Liverpool's recent success because of the near 30 years of success that Sir Alex Ferguson had at Old Trafford.

Appearing on the JD Sports’ podcast ‘In The Duffle Bag’ Klopp was greeted by the host, a United fan, who admitted it was a bittersweet moment to be talking to the German boss, who has led Liverpool to the Champions League and Club World Cup titles - as well as the brink of Premier League glory as things stand.

United meanwhile are down in fifth place, having finished sixth last season while Liverpool ran Man City so close for the 2018/19 league crown.

The United supporting host couldn't bring himself to laud Klopp too much when introducing the podcast.

But Klopp replied by saying: "You had 30 good years and you have like three or four not so good and that's... wow."

The host then said that maybe United fans should accept that "sometimes it's not always your turn [to win trophies]" to which Klopp responds: "yeah, I know, most of the time in my life it was like that".

Liverpool currently stand 25 points clear at the Premier League summit, with the league currently halted as the United Kingdom tries to prevent the spread of coronavirus. They are 37 points ahead of United and before the enforced break looked certain to end their 30-year title drought and bring their overall tally to 19 league titles, with United on 20.
