Jurgen Klopp snaps at reporter in fiery interview ahead of Liverpool vs Man City

Jurgen Klopp has hit out at questions regarding Liverpool's hopes of retaining their title in a pre-match interview.

The Reds host Manchester City this afternoon looking to close the gap on the Premier League leaders.

A poor run of form since the festive period has seen Liverpool slip away in the title race and they find themselves seven points off City having played a game more.

It leaves their hopes of winning successive titles hanging by a thread, but Klopp is not interested in talking about that.

He said in an interview with Sky Sports : "I don't understand you, the only thing you want to talk about all the time is us becoming champion.

"Have you ever been the best sports commentator in the world? Do you think it is still possible?

"We try - but if I say it is possible, or it is not possible, then we have another headline. Why would we do that?

"Let's talk about the situation, if you're not interested then I don't understand why we talk.

"I'm not angry, I just don't understand why the whole interview is about us becoming champions again."

Injuries to key players have hindered Liverpool this term with their defensive options being especially sretched.

The unique nature of the season has led to plenty of unexpected results while the table is far more congested than it has been in recent years.

Klopp though doesn't feel the need to state the obvious in what is an unprecedented season.

He continued: "That is clear, always anything is possible, why should I say obvious stuff.

"Yes, anything is possible always in this wonderful life and country.

"It is not true, its not anything is possible always, but in football probably yes. So yes anything is possible."
