Jurgen Klopp scoops Premier League Manager of the Month award

Jurgen Klopp has been named the Premier League's Manager of the Month for September.

Liverpool earned three wins from their three league outings last month, starting with an Anfield victory over Newcastle United.

Chelsea were then swept aside at Stamford Bridge before the Reds picked up a hard-fought three points against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

And that run of results has proven enough for Klopp to pip Frank Lampard, Eddie Howe and Brendan Rodgers to recognition as September's top boss.

It is the second consecutive month that the German has clinched the prize, having done so after overseeing four victories in August.

Klopp has now won the Manager of the Month award five times since arriving in England in October 2015.

Liverpool's perfect start to the season has seen them open up an eight-point lead over reigning champions Manchester City with just eight games played.

But the Merseyside outfit face another tough test of their flawless record after the international break, when they travel to the home of arch-rivals Manchester United.
