Jurgen Klopp says Cristiano Ronaldo applause was "moment of match" vs Manchester United

Jurgen Klopp said the applause in memory of Cristiano Ronaldo's baby son was his "moment of the game" during Liverpool's 4-0 win against Manchester United.

Ronaldo announced that one of his twins had died on Monday and he was unavailable for the trip to Anfield as he spends time with his family after their tragic loss.

Both sets of players wore black armbands during the Premier League game and Anfield rose to its feet after seven minutes with all four sides of the ground applauding.

The Kop sang 'You'll Never Walk Alone' during the applause while the away end belted out 'Viva Ronaldo' in tribute to the Portuguese forward.

Klopp paid tribute to that special moment after the game, mentioning the applause as his favourite part of the game during his post-match press conference.

“My moment of the game was the seventh minute when the whole stadium showed pure class, so many things are much more important in life than football. We feel for Cristiano and his family. That was my moment of the game," he said.
