Jurgen Klopp's touchline reaction to Diogo Jota's second Liverpool goal vs Atalanta

Jurgen Klopp's reaction to Diogo Jota's second goal was priceless after the Portuguese forward ran riot for Liverpool.

The Reds thrashed Atalanta 5-0 in Italy after a hat-trick from Jota as well as goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

The ex-Wolves star took on Roberto Firmino's position in the team after a brilliant start to the season.

And he made a case to be a regular starter at Anfield after a special display.

All of Jota's goals were class but perhaps the best of the lot was his second.

From an improbable angle, he thumped home after 30 minutes to extend Liverpool's lead and Klopp was seen bellowing: "What a finish, Diogo!"

The German's decision to drop Firmino has been vindicated and Jota has now scored more Liverpool goals for the Reds than his striker rival in 2020.

Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock told BBC Radio 5Live that he cannot see Firmino getting back in the team.

He said: "It changes the style of play.

"You see the pace Jota has. Jota brings more directness to it, while Firmino is more clever.

"Fans have been critical of him slowing attacks down too much.

"They improve when Jota comes into the team at the moment. He has been impressive; he has been called a pressing monster.

"It shows his confidence. He has seen this as an opportunity of a lifetime.

"He believes he can take Liverpool to the next level and he has the trust of the players around him as well. Firmino will play at the weekend but it gives the option and a strong option."

Klopp now has a decision to make over whether Jota keeps his place but Warnock reckons it is a no-brainer.

"Jota is hot at the moment. It is very, very hard to leave him out against Manchester City," he added.

"It looks inevitable that will be his forward three but you just never know with Jurgen Klopp."
