Jurgen Klopp's record with Premier League changes this season as five subs vote rejected

The Premier League have voted against implementing five substitutes in what will come as a blow to Jurgen Klopp.

Top flight managers and chiefs had discussed the possibility of increasing the number from three to five.

Injuries have risen considerably this term due to the fixture congestion and it had been suggested that allowing two more subs per game would help manage players' workload.

Klopp, who has had to deal with a host of absences this term, has been a leading voice in pushing for the change.

He confessed recently that he was losing support from his colleagues.

The likes of Chris Wilder at Sheffield United felt that increasing the amount of subs would further the gulf between the top teams and the rest.

And with several top clubs failing to use their current allocation of three matters had been complicated.

But Klopp has been massively in favour of using his bench to fully utilise his resources.

We take a look at the amount of subs used by the Liverpool boss since the start of the season.
