Jurgen Klopp's praise for Paul Pogba before Manchester United to Liverpool links

Liverpool have been offered the chance to sign Paul Pogba in what would be a seismic move from Manchester United, according to reports, and it seems Jurgen Klopp is a fan of the French midfielder.

On Thursday LeSport10 via The Express claimed super agent Mino Raiola had offered the Reds the chance to sign the star with him looking likely to leave the club.

While PSG are favourites, Liverpool are said to have turned down the offer but could open to signing him next Janaury when he has just six months remaining on his contract.

In May of this year, two weeks before Liverpool’s 4-2 victory at Old Trafford, Klopp picked Pogba out for praise after the 28-year-old impressed in United’s 6-2 Europa League semi-final triumph over Roma.

Looking ahead to the clash, Klopp remarked, “Is (Marcus) Rashford on the wing or is it Pogba? Obviously Pogba played again a really good game last night.

"Who we will face is pretty clear. They cannot make massive changes and probably will not make if they had no injuries last night. I think that’s clear.

“I think 75 per cent of the team is the same team playing most of the games. Last line, midfield pretty much, Fred, (Scott) McTominay, maybe (Nemanja) Matic comes in.

"Then the four up front. (Bruno) Fernandes is playing pretty much all games and the other three he can change from time to time."

It seems Pogba’s displays two months ago caught the eye of Klopp but whether a move materialises remains to be seen.

It would be massive transfer if it did happen - the last time a player joined Liverpool from United was way back in 1964 when Phil Chisnall made the switch in a £25,000 deal.
