Jurgen Klopp's message to Liverpool dressing room amid slump in form

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has revealed Jurgen Klopp's message to his side amid a serious slump in form.

The Reds have lost their last three matches at home for the first time in almost 60 years, while winning just two of their last seven games in all competitions.

Klopp’s side now sit 10 points behind Manchester City at the top of the table, and have a huge challenge on their hand to close that gap.

But Brazilian striker Firmino insists that his boss remains upbeat about their season and is keen to keep morale high in the Liverpool camp.

"He is never negative," said Firmino of Klopp in the the Liverpool FC matchday programme. "He's never let our heads go down.

“He's always been motivating the team, letting us know what we are capable of, what we demonstrated last year and for us to look ahead.

"He knows what we can achieve."

Liverpool’s campaign has been plagued by injuries, most notably at centre-back with all three of their first team options in Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all set to miss the rest of the season.

And Firmino admits that while the side are seriously missing the trio, they have to get on with the job at hand as best they can.

"It's difficult, isn't it? Unfortunately in football injuries are something that can always happen,” Firmino added. “It has affected us, of course.

"It was a great loss to our team to lose three great players in Virgil, Joe and (Diogo) Jota before Joel as they are all players who contribute a lot and show what they're capable of. But we're not negative about this.

"We always aim to think about the players available in the squad and look to do our best with the players we have. Always thinking positively, believing in our potential and what we can achieve."

Liverpool face a huge clash against Leicester on Saturday as they look to put themselves back in the race for the title.
