Jurgen Klopp's message for Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham after signing new Liverpool contract

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has warned that him signing a new contract at Liverpool will be good news for some and "not such good news" for others.

The Reds boss has put pen to paper on a new contract at Liverpool until 2024, after guiding the club to glory in the Champions League last season, having defeated Tottenham 2-0 in the final in Madrid.

Klopp's men also currently sit top of the Premier League with an eight-point advantage over Leicester City in second place after 16 games of the season.

Liverpool have not won the top flight title for 30 years, but are currently well-placed to end that run.

And now Klopp has signed a new contract to extend his stay on Merseyside, which he said may not be good news for some in a message to Liverpool's Premier League rivals, which include the London trio of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham, along with Manchester City and Manchester United.

“We have decided to continue what work so far, [has been] not too bad," he said, speaking in a video published by Liverpool on social media to confirm the announcement.

“We agreed a new contract until 2024. That will be good news for some, not such good news for others, sorry, but you can switch the channel off now.

“For the others, here are a few of the reasons. We love it here. It is a wonderful club and we understand most of the people, and we thought it was a good moment to continue this.

“It was not a difficult negotiation, I felt really good in that time. We could keep it quiet, which is exceptional in this time.

“See you, from now on, even more often.”
