Ryan Kent is the sole remaining name of the four transfer targets Leeds United set themselves heading into this close season.
Disregarding who may come to leave Elland Road, heading into the summer director of football Victor Orta set his sights on Helder Costa (signed), Jack Harrison (signed), Ben White (signed) and Kent.
Jack Clarke has since come in, technically, as a new face too, although he was already on the roster when the Whites identified Kent at the start of the summer.
The winger has been on tour with Liverpool in the USA, filling a spot in the squad while the more established, international stars enjoy delayed close-season breaks.
As a result, any talk about his future has been delayed and it remains likely he will be playing away from Anfield, either on loan or permanently, next term.
Kent remains in the dark on his destination for now, but manager Jurgen Klopp has been showering the 22-year-old with such praise the rumour writers may think again about an exit.
“They (Harry Wilson, Kent, Rhian Brewster) are good players,” said Klopp.
“Ryan had sensational moments in the Sevilla game (July 21 at Fenway Park) – one-on-one situations are his big strength.
“He is a wonderful kid, a wonderful player.”
Last week, Orta told LeedsLive he felt United’s incoming transfer business was around 90 per cent complete.
