Jurgen Klopp reveals the one change he'd like to see in the Champions League

Jurgen Klopp seemed in a relaxed and jovial mood in the press conference ahead of his side's Champions League final clash against Tottenham .

The 51-year-old didn't appear to demonstrate any sign of nerves despite the fact he has lost his previous six cup finals in a row.

When asked about what changes he would make to the Champions League format given the opportunity, Klopp was prepared with a comical answer for reporters.

"If they could make the semi-final the final then I would be completely happy with it!" he quipped, referencing his poor record in finals.

"I don't know what people want to change. I love the competition. The right teams play in it, each team has the same chance to go through."

"Since 2012, apart from 2017, I was every year with my team in a final. We came there sometimes with luck.

"I am the world record-holder in the last seven years in winning semi-finals. But if I were to write a book about it probably no-one would buy it."

Liverpool are favourites to win in Madrid having finished 26 points above Tottenham in the Premier League this season.

However, Klopp played down the notion that Spurs will relish the tag of underdogs for the game.

"If I were to think Tottenham had an advantage I would be mad and if (Spurs boss Mauricio) Pochettino were to say the advantage was with the Liverpool side he would be mad as well," he added.

"It is not about having an advantage now, it is about working for that advantage tomorrow.

"I know people say we are the favourites because we had more points in the league, but if you saw the games this season both were really good so there is no advantage before the game."

Klopp also confirmed that Bobby Firmino is now fully fit to play, with the Brazilian not having appeared since Liverpool's semi final first leg loss to Barcelona in May.

"He's fit, he's trained, he's here and if nothing happened from the moment he left the plane until now - I didn't see him since then - he'll be fine," he said.
