Jurgen Klopp reveals partnership with German company who gave Liverpool FA Cup advantage

Jurgen Klopp dedicated the FA Cup win to Liverpool's supporters as he told of his respect for Chelsea after another shootout victory at Wembley.

After a goalless draw at the national stadium for a second successive final between the pair, it was once more spot-kicks that decided it as Klopp's men prevailed 6-5 to secure a domestic double in the cups.

Klopp said his first FA Cup triumph in English football was one for the "whole club" before he reserved a special mention for the supporters who welcomed them into Wembley on Saturday afternoon.

"I know that my team knows exactly what I think about them," Klopp said in his post-match press conference. "That is the most important thing. This again is a trophy for the whole club and of course for the team and the whole team.

"And we know what this means for our people because outside the hotel we saw them all partying since this morning. And when we looked into all their faces when we came into the bus, we could see what it meant to the people.

"Then on the pitch, with the performance, you could see what it means to the players. It is absolutely out of this world, it is massive. It is game number 60 in a very intense season. So putting out a performance like this is incredible.

"But most important is the full respect to Chelsea. What a team, what a performance and in the end, we all know a penalty shootout is a lottery, that is how it is, but we did it again."

The Liverpool boss once again detailed the work undertaken by German company neuro11, who have been liaising with the Reds squad throughout the campaign.

The neuroscience organisation helped the players prepare for the pressure situation of the penalty shootout of February's Carabao Cup victory and Klopp once more praised their work in helping Liverpool over the line at Wembley.

He added: "We worked together with the company, two guys, a German company called neuro11, we got in contact with them two years ago and one of them is a neuroscientist and he can train in penalty shooting.

"So we thought it sounded interesting, invited them over and we met, worked together and this trophy is for them, obviously, like the Carabao Cup was.

"It means the world to us, honestly. It's massive, it was difficult and in the first 25 minutes was the best we've ever played against Chelsea. We didn't score and it's clear with Chelsea's quality they'd find their way back in the game. They did that and they had their chances, we had massive chances and none of us used them. So a penalty shootout is a logical thing.

"Doing it like this feels good but it gives you more of a sense how hard it must be for the opponent because it would have been hard for us after 120 minutes and losing like this. So honestly, it's my respect to Chelsea and what they did."
