Naby Keita will not have a reunion with former club RB Leipzig this week despite his return to training with Liverpool.
Keita was a surprise participant in the session on Monday afternoon having been out for almost two months with a hamstring problem.
The 26-year-old, though, was not among the travelling party that flew to Budapest later in the day to prepare for Tuesday's Champions League round of 16 first leg.
Keita will instead remain at Kirkby to continue working on his fitness in the hope of being available for Saturday's Premier League derby at home to Everton.
And Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool will soon have a "great player" to call upon once more.
"He is no longer injured but he is not fit," said the Reds boss, speaking on Monday.
"He was in training yesterday but he is not ready yet. We will be away for two days and he will be in training. He would have liked to be there against Leipzig.
"He has had some very great spells but he has had too many injuries. He has played some really great games, scored important goals.
"These injuries were minor things but kicked him out of the team but he has an excellent perspective.
"He is a great player. And when these injuries are behind him, we will have a great player."
