Jurgen Klopp reveals Liverpool injury blow ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Roberto Firmino will miss Saturday's Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.

The Brazilian will depart Anfield in the summer after eight years on Merseyside. During his time at the club, he has helped Liverpool win six major trophies including the Champions League and Premier League title.

But the 31-year-old has seen his game time limited this season having started just 12 matches in the league all season. And the centre-forward has been dealt another blow in a difficult campaign for him and his team with Liverpool sitting eighth in the league.

“Unfortunately Bobby picked up a muscle issue a little bit,” Klopp said, during his pre-Forest press conference.

“We will see how long that takes. It’s not too serious but he is definitely out for tomorrow and next week we have two more games, I would say they are impossible as well and then we will see. We have to take it day by day.”

Klopp reported no other injury concerns ahead of the match against Forest as they look to build on Monday's 6-1 win over Forest's relegation rivals Leeds United.

Forest face a daunting trip to Anfield on Saturday as they look for a first win since beating Leeds back in February. Steve Cooper's side has a dreadful away record having won just once on the road this season.
