Jurgen Klopp reveals how Liverpool want to make things 'complicated' ahead of Merseyside derby

Jurgen Klopp has explained how he is preparing his Liverpool players for their trip to Everton at the weekend.

The Reds resume their Premier League campaign on Sunday with an away visit to Goodison Park, and will be keen to edge closer to securing a long-awaiting league title.

Klopp’s men need just six more points from their last nine league fixtures to ensure that the prestigious trophy heads to Anfield.

Sunday’s visit to Goodison will begin what will be a new ‘normal’ for the Reds and the rest of the Premier League.

The match will be played behind closed doors, and the clash will have a very different vibe compared to Merseyside derbies gone by.

Klopp has been speaking about how the different environment will affect himself and his players, and also explains the ‘complicated’ approach he is preparing ahead of the game.

“We will see,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com, when asked how the lack of spectators will affect the match.

He added: “If you measure it and compare it with the perfect situation, how it would be usually, then you think, ‘Oh, that’s different and that’s different’, but we know that already.

“We’ve done pre-activation with the players now for three weeks and pretty much everything happens in a tent, if you are not on the pitch.

“So far we were not allowed to use the dressing rooms, so using the dressing rooms could be allowed from Saturday but in a different way, but yes, we can change inside, we can change at home.

“So Sunday then, yes things will be different but we try to make it as complicated as possible for us in our preparation [so] we arrive there and are not surprised.

“We are happy that we are allowed to change and allowed to play, and all the rest we take like it is.”
