Jurgen Klopp reveals hilarious antics after Borussia Dortmund's 2011 title-winning celebrations

Jurgen Klopp has hilariously admitted he "woke up on a truck" after Borussia Dortmund's 2011 Bundesliga title win.

The German boss led the celebrations after Dortmund won their first title in nine years following an incredible campaign.

And the 52-year-old suggested the party that followed was equally as good.

Speaking to Amazon Prime, Klopp said: “I was really wasted which may have been noticeable in some interviews.

“And I don’t remember much that makes any sense. I do remember one thing.

"I’m not sure if I ever told anyone. I actually woke up on a truck in the garage. All alone. I remember that, but I have no idea about the hours before that."

The story will come as little surprise to Liverpool fans who will remember all too fondly the scenes of Klopp following both Champions League finals they have played in.

And the Reds boss revealed he was not the only person among Dortmund's hierarchy who had had a wild night.

“I woke up, climbed out of the truck and found myself in a big factory hall. Then I walked across the yard and saw the silhouette of a man.

"So I whistled because I can whistle quite loudly and I noticed the silhouette slowed down a little. So I waited and saw Aki Watzke (Hans-Joachim Watzke, Borussia Dortmund CEO). So Aki and I were the only people on this huge yard.”

Stranded and in no doubt suffering from a ravaging case of the beer munchies, the pair then hitch-hiked a ride.

“Aki held up an old Mercedes on the road," Klopp added. "It was a Turkish fella in a station wagon. And Aki says ‘Take us to the Italian’. 'No I won’t drive you there'. So Aki reaches into his pocket, finds 200 euros and says ‘You will.’ He sees the money, 'OK'."

To further add to the amusing skit, on the journey Klopp discovered the driver was transporting livestock in his boot.

“Aki sits in the front, I sit back. I kept slamming my head into the side, I was a little tired. And I kept hearing ‘cluck, cluck, cluck’

"What’s going on here? I thought I dreamed it. But I didn’t. The trunk was full of chickens."

You can only imagine what might happen if Klopp ends Liverpool's 30-year wait for a Premier League title...
