Jurgen Klopp pinpoints how Liverpool will strengthen next season as they near title

Jurgen Klopp has opened up about how he will look to strengthen his Liverpool squad in the next transfer window with the Reds on the cusp of the Premier League title.

The Anfield outfit are just five points away from a first league crown in 30 years, but could yet win the title this week should they beat Crystal Palace on Wednesday and Manchester City drop points at Chelsea on Thursday.

With Klopp's men on the cusp of a brilliant league success, attention has already inevitably turned to whether Liverpool can make a success defence of the crown next season.

To do that, the Reds may well need reinforcements with City looking strong since the Premier League returned while Chelsea have already splashed the cash on Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Red Bull Leipzig's Timo Werner.

Though they did not make any senior signings last summer, the Anfield side may be forced into the transfer market this summer to maintain their position at the summit.

And Klopp has lifted the lid on how Liverpool may approach the next transfer window should the club decide they need to make any additions.

"Whatever we do is for the club and our fans. We have to make decisions independent of public opinions," he told Sky Sports.

There is a chance that Liverpool may not enter the transfer market again this summer with the club boasting a string of promising youngsters.

The likes of Harvey Elliott, Neco Williams and Ki-Jana Hoever could all be given a shot in the Premier League once the title is wrapped up.

It could form part of an audition to see if the youngsters are worthy of a larger role within the squad next term, but it seems some may have already caught Klopp's eye in training.

"They impress every day. If I say today the future is bright then maybe it is a bit too much pressure on the boys and I don't want to do that but it looks really promising what the boys offer," added the German.
