Jurgen Klopp pays huge compliment to Frank Lampard ahead of Chelsea vs Liverpool FA Cup clash

Frank Lampard has been hailed by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp for the "super job" he is doing at Chelsea this season.

The Blues head coach is hoping to steer his side to Champions League qualification via the Premier League, with Chelsea currently sitting in fourth place in the table following a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.

Chelsea have a three-point advantage over Manchester United and Wolves, in fifth and sixth respectively, while there are other clubs including Tottenham and Sheffield United still battling to try and finish in the top four.

But ahead of facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the fifth round of the FA Cup, Klopp has paid his opposite number a huge compliment about the job he has done so far in his first season as a Premier League manager.

Bournemouth 2-2 Chelsea: Frank Lampard press conference

“Frank is doing a fabulous job. It’s brilliant,” he said, speaking at his pre-match press conference.

“Super job from what I can see. I like the project a lot. Having that amount of sensational young players is nice.

“To fight for the Champions League places that means you have to beat three or four teams with similar possibilities and circumstances. That’s not so easy.“

Meanwhile, Klopp said he is expecting a tough game against the Blues in west London, with Chelsea looking to follow Watford's lead after the Hornets beat the Reds on Saturday to end their long unbeaten run in the Premier League.

And he has suggested that Chelsea could even be considered favourites for the game.

“There is no favourite in this game," he said.

“If there is, it’s Chelsea because they’re at home.”
