Jurgen Klopp has leapt to the defence of Mohamed Salah after the Liverpool forward came under fire for an alleged dive in the win over West Ham.
Salah went down under the challenge of Hammers defender Arthur Masuaku to win a penalty at the end of the first half.
The spot kick proved crucial as the Egyptian converted to equalise for Liverpool after they fell behind to Pablo Fornals' opener.
The Reds went on to win the match 2-1 as Diogo Jota came off the bench to poke home with five minutes to spare.
But the victory has been tarnished by criticism of Salah, who was deemed to have dived by some pundits.
Klopp, however, rubbished claims Salah deceived the referee as he opened up on his conversation with the player after the match.
"It was a foul," said the Reds boss. "Believe it or not, yesterday I spoke to Mo about how he feels.
"He has three proper knocks on the foot and one of them is from the penalty situation. There was clear contact. No, I don't understand the criticism.

"We don't talk much about penalties we don't get yet two days later we are talking still about one we did. I don't get the criticism, no."
Meanwhile, Klopp heaped praise on Jota after the £41million summer signing scored his third goal in three matches.
The German added: "He (Jota) is at the best age, 23, already experienced. He's a really good boy and a really good signing.
"We never hold players back at the beginning, they just need time to adapt but I knew it wouldn't take long for him to adapt because of how Wolves play - intense."
Liverpool travel to Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday before a trip to Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
