Jurgen Klopp on what will happen next time he sees Diego Simeone after handshake snub

Jurgen Klopp promises to shake Diego Simeone's hand next time he sees him after he was snubbed by the Atletico Madrid boss following Liverpool's Champions League win.

Klopp's Reds ran out 3-2 winners in Spain and Simeone shot down the tunnel as the final whistle sounded.

Liverpool manager Klopp could be seen walking after him with his arm outstretched, but Simeone was not interested in shaking hands and left the German hanging.

Klopp addressed the situation after the game and insisted there is no bad blood between the pair and that they will shake hands the next time they meet.

"The situation is clear I wanted to shake his hand, he didn't want it," Klopp told BT Sport. "He was reaction was for sure not right, mine was not too cool either but we are both emotional.

"When I see him next time we will shake hands, definitely. He was obviously angry, not with me, but the game, the world and stuff like this."

Simeone said much the same as Klopp, promising to greet him in a respectful manner the next time they meet.

"I don't always greet [the other manager] after the game because I don't like it," said the Atletico boss. "It's not healthy for either the winner or the loser. I think of it that way.

"But now, when I see him, I'll greet him without a problem."

The Argentine added: "It was a tough match against an opponent who has a great game, who usually wins matches by many goals. We did not start the match as we wanted and from the second goal, we started the match we were looking for.

"We had chances to put ourselves ahead. We played well in the second half, the goalkeeper [Alisson] made a great save again. The team responded well with when we were one down, but then they were awarded a penalty."
