Jurgen Klopp on the key factor behind Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino's Liverpool success

Jurgen Klopp believes the good relationship between his Liverpool strike force is key to their reputation as one of the world's most fearsome frontlines.

Mohamed Salah scored twice after Sadio Mane's opener as the Reds got their Group E campaign back on track in the Champions League with a 4-3 win over Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile Firmino claimed three assists against the Austrians to take his tally up to seven for the season, just one less than his haul for whole of last season.

Klopp feels that the friendship between all three frontmen is a major factor behind the success of an attack that has scored a combined 174 goals since the start of the 2017/18 season.

"The goals we scored on Wednesday, pretty much all of them would not have happened without Bobby, right?" Klopp said. "The relationship [between them] is good and really important and that is how football works. Nobody in modern football can do that alone.

"Sometimes it looks like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo can do it [alone] but it is getting more and more difficult to do.

"Defending became so much better in the last few years. Analysing is better than it was 10 years ago. The help and the information we can give to the players means that the defenders know pretty much everything before he faces a striker.

"Still there is a job to do, but (knocks on wood) let’s hope they stay fit and tomorrow we can do it again."

Klopp is also ready once more face up to the threat of Jamie Vardy, who has scored seven times against Liverpool in his top-flight career with Leicester.

The Premier League leaders host an in-form Foxes side who arrive at Anfield in third and Klopp is aware of the danger of Brendan Rodgers' five-goal top scorer.

"I remember one goal [of Vardy's], I think Lucas Leiva played a ball to him five yards out in front of the Kop," said Klopp. "It was a pretty easy one, I remember. We shouldn’t count that one!

"We are a pretty dominant side usually. When we lose the ball, there are some spaces and he has the timing for the runs. He also has the speed.

"You see how cheeky he is in those moments. That is just good, that makes him the footballer he is."
