Jurgen Klopp has told former Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana he is one of the best he has ever worked with in football.
Lallana joined Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer when his contract expired after making more than 150 appearances for Liverpool in a six-year spell.
The 32-year-old left having lifted the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup and Klopp was asked to send a message to him by BT Sport.
"What a player, what a person, what a guy, we don’t have time to praise you properly but one of the best I’ve ever worked with," he replied.
Klopp also offered his thoughts on the 'developing' centre-back partnership of Joe Gomez and Fabinho.
Fabinho has moved back into defence following injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip and impressed in victories over Ajax and Sheffield United.
"Developing is the right word," Klopp said. "It would be strange if they play twice together and it’s all perfect.
"They played the 1st time together last week and did really well last game. Now let’s carry on like this, improve, develop, work together and hope Joel comes back, Kostas comes back and then that we have options there."
