Jurgen Klopp makes two Liverpool changes as tactical tweak available against Brentford

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Curtis Jones start for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp makes two changes for the visit of Brentford.

Oxlade-Chamberlain replaces James Milner in the midfield three with Jones expected to start on the left of the attack in place of Takumi Minamino.

The option of having Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jones in the side gives Klopp the opportunity to revert to a four-man midfield with Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino also selected up top.

The versatility of both players also enables them to switch throughout the game as Liverpool look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League, having not won for a month.

The two changes come after a shot-shy Liverpool were held to a goalless draw with an Arsenal side on Thursday who played over two thirds of the game with a man less.

That means Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip continue at centre-back with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson in their usual roles at full-back.

Minamino and Milner are both relegated to the bench that includes 17-year-old Kaide Gordon who scored in last week's 4-1 win over Shrewsbury Town.

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Jota, Firmino, Jones.

Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Milner, Gomez, Minamino, Tsimikas, Gordon, Williams, Morton.
