James Milner deputised at right-back for the second time this season and he may be required to do so once again with Alexander-Arnold a major doubt for Sunday's Premier League clash against Manchester City.

He could also be ruled out of England's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Hungary next month.

Liverpool fire warning to Manchester City as Trent Alexander-Arnold solution found

Liverpool will want to play every Champions League game at the Estadio do Dragao as they dispatched Porto once again, with a 5-1 victory on Tuesday night.

Reminiscent of 2017/18, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino were all among the goals as the Reds extended their lead at the top of group B.

It's now 14-2 across the three games in Portugal during Klopp's tenure and the previous two appearances in 2018 and '19 have both ended in a final appearance in Europe's premier competition.

On the day when the legendary striker's passing was confirmed by the club, it was fitting that the current Golden Boy of Anfield featured prominently.

Mohamed Salah was on the scoresheet once again as he scored twice to reach his eighth goal of the campaign in all competitions.
