Jurgen Klopp makes surprise admission after Mohamed Salah yellow card

Mohamed Salah doesn't get booked often, but when he does it's usually because he's taken his shirt off.

The Egyptian scored Liverpool's second of three goals against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon as the Reds earned their fourth league victory of the season.

Amid the celebrations, Salah took his shirt off and was subsequently yellow carded for his actions.

It was the 29-year-old's first caution of the campaign and his sixth while at Liverpool.

Half of Salah's bookings have been issued for similar goal celebrations and manager Jurgen Klopp was asked about the stat after the game.

"I remember the one against Manchester United," he told LFCTV post-match.

"I was close to pulling my shirt off that day!"

Salah's first booking for shirt removal came after a stunning solo goal in a 3-1 away victory to Southampton back in 2019.

The second came at the end of memorable 2-0 victory at home to Manchester United in Liverpool's historic title-winning campaign in 2020.

A brilliant quick pass from Alisson played in Salah, who slotted it past David de Gea, which promoted wild celebrations from the crowd, the winger to rip his shirt off and the goalkeeper to run the length of the pitch.

Salah's goal against Palace was his fifth of the season in all competitions after he also netted against AC Milan in the Champions League midweek.

He became the 30th player to score 100 Premier League goals in their win over Leeds United last weekend.
