Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that Sheffield United are a team as difficult to play against as anyone his side faced in the Champions League last season.
Klopp's men exited at the hands of Atletico Madrid in the last-16 stage, and had faced Genk, Napoli and Red Bull Salzburg in the group stage of the tournament.
But the German manager has claimed that Chris Wilder's team posed them just as much of a threat as any of those teams.
In his pre-Sheffield United programme notes, Klopp outlined: "The games we had against them [Sheffield United] last season were as tough as any we faced, be it in domestic competition or European football.
"Both games could have gone either way. Anything less than our best and I know we will have problems today. But we won’t allow that to happen. We will be ready."
One man who has supplemented the Sheffield United squad significantly since then is Rhian Brewster, who spent six months out on loan at Swansea City last season before sealing a move to Yorkshire for around £23 million.
Liverpool have three years in which to trigger a buy-back clause for the forward and today could be his first Sheffield United start against the side he joined from Chelsea as a 15-year-old.
On Brewster, Klopp added: "There is one change to Sheffield United that certainly makes them more dangerous. And that is the arrival of Rhian.
"Our guy, our man - this will always be the case in our hearts. But now on the pitch he is Sheffield United. And anyone who knows Rhian will be aware that sentiment will be firmly left outside of Anfield when he arrives today.
"It would not be possible for me to understate my love, respect and admiration for Rhi. Such a special guy on and off the pitch. I’m not going to lie, agreeing to that transfer was really hard.
