Jurgen Klopp makes Mohamed Salah injury declaration ahead of Napoli Champions League clash

Jurgen Klopp has declared Mohamed Salah fit for Liverpool's Champions League showdown against Napoli in midweek.

Salah has been hampered in recent weeks by the ankle injury he first sustained when caught by Leicester City's Hamza Choudhury six weeks ago.

The forward stayed on the bench on Saturday afternoon as the Reds earned a dramatic 2-1 win at Crystal Palace to maintain their eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

And while explaining why Salah didn't start, Klopp also revealed he expects the Egyptian to feature when Napoli visit on Wednesday with Liverpool seeking the victory that will see them group winners with a game to spare.

“Mo is all good,” said the Reds boss. “He couldn't train for nine days.

“He was with Egypt, went home, trained 60-70% the day before yesterday, and was first time 100% yesterday.

“We had to make the decision whether to start him or not. We didn't start him, we were about to bring him on when we scored the winner (with five minutes remaining).

“So we could rest him today. That's really good. Wednesday he will be back.”

Fabinho , meanwhile, will miss next Saturday's Premier League meeting with Brighton and Hove Albion through suspension having picked up his fifth top-flight booking of the campaign at Selhurst Park.
