Jurgen Klopp makes Kalidou Koulibaly 'phone call' and other Liverpool transfer rumours rated

Coronavirus might have thrown a spanner in the works for many football club's finances across Europe, but that is not enough for the transfer rumour mill to stop spinning.

And today is no different, with the latest on some reported Liverpool targets being reported by media outlets across the continent.

These are your Liverpool transfer rumours rated for Saturday, May 30.

Who?

Germany forward Timo Werner - we're sure you know who he is by now...

What?

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, signing for Liverpool remains the only 'priority' for the Germany striker.

Romano adds that two weeks ago, Liverpool asked RB Leipzig for more time to consider the finances of the deal, and he also says that the two clubs have not entered any talks with the Bundesliga outfit yet.

Werner would reportedly only consider other clubs if Liverpool gave up on him. It does seem to make sense given that he has been so vocal about how much he admires Jurgen Klopp and the Reds, but this will not be the last we hear of the transfer saga.

Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio confirmed that the Italian side would not be signing the forward yesterday.

Who?

Kalidou Koulibaly, the Napoli and Senegal defender.

What?

LeSport10, via the Metro, claim that Jurgen Klopp has personally called Koulibaly to sell him a move to Anfield.

They say the German boss spoke well about his plans for the future of the club, but the report adds that Newcastle United will also be in for him should their takeover go through.

But, as always with this recurring rumour, Liverpool already have Joe Gomez, and Koulibaly is almost 29. It seems unlikely.

Who?

Diego Carlos, the Sevilla centre-back.

What?

Liverpool are reportedly set to face competition from Arsenal for the Spanish side's defender.

El Desmarque, via Sports Mole, say that Mikel Arteta is keen on him but will not pay his £67 million release clause.

The Reds were linked with Carlos a few weeks back as a potential replacement for Dejan Lovren, who many assumed would be leaving.

But the Croatian could yet stick around for another season and has looked in good spirits since returning to training at Melwood.
