Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool manager blames wind for goalless draw vs Everton

Jurgen Klopp blamed the wind for disrupting Liverpool’s game plan as the Reds drew to fall behind Manchester City in the title race.

Mohamed Salah wasted several clear openings as the visitors failed to put the finishing touches on a series of great chances.

Michael Keane and Lucas Digne made last-ditch tackles as well, but Klopp highlighted the wind for hindering his side at Goodison Park.

“[It was a] very difficult game for different reasons,” Klopp said.

“I know people don’t like it when I say it, but the wind came from all different directions, the ball was in the air a lot.

“It’s not exactly what we wanted, but it’s easy to accept because it was a difficult game.”

It is now five draws in seven games for Liverpool, though they are undefeated in that run, with Klopp emphasising the difficulty of opposition for the poor run of form.

“They are difficult games,” Klopp added. ”It’s all good, we need to show constantly stability, fight for the results.”

The German added that Salah, despite his dry spell, is not far from finding another hot streak in front of goal.

“He’s doing everything right,” Klopp claimed. ”In the last moment, the decision making. That’s how it is.”
