Jurgen Klopp jokingly runs away from Man City manager Pep Guardiola to avoid awkward interview

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hilariously ran away from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola to avoid an awkward interview in the wake of Sunday's Premier League clash.

City were defeated 3-1 at Anfield, slipping nine points behind their rivals in the race for the Premier League title. Guardiola's side slipped to fourth in the standings as a result, behind Liverpool, Leicester and Chelsea.

Just a day after the meeting on Merseyside, both Klopp and Guardiola were present at the UEFA Elite Club Coaches Forum in Switzerland alongside other head coaches from around the world including Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane and Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri.

The Liverpool boss was questioned by reporters whether he spoke to Guardiola at the event after tempers flared during the Premier League encounter.

One reporter asked: "Did you speak with 'Pepe'?" which left Klopp seriously confused.

He replied: "Pepe? Who is Pepe?" to which the reporter added "Pepe Guardiola."

The penny finally dropped for Klopp who shouted: "Pep!

"Yes of course we spoke. Why shouldn't we speak? We speak constantly."

Guardiola emerged in the background of the shot and Klopp spotted his managerial rival approaching.

He jokingly ran away from the City boss after whispering to the reporters: "Pep Guardiola is coming."

The City manager didn't stop to answer questions but gave reporters a smile as he made his exit.
