Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has described Thomas Tuchel's presence at Chelsea as a "threat" to the rest of the Premier League.
Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard in January and the German coach has already won two major honours at Stamford Bridge - the Champions League and the Super Cup.
Klopp has played against Tuchel a total of 15 times throughout his career - winning nine of those matches, drawing three and losing three - and goes up against his compatriot at Anfield this weekend.
The Reds and the Blues have started the season in impressive style, with both sides boasting a 100 per cent record, but that has to end on Saturday evening.
Klopp, when speaking about Tuchel in his pre-match press conference on Friday, insisted he has not been shocked by the start his fellow countryman has made in west London, but is somewhat surprised by how quickly Chelsea have progressed.
“What Thomas did at Chelsea is absolutely exceptional,” Klopp said to the media.
“I never doubted that he would have a massive impact there. That it would go that quick? I think not even he would have expected that.
“Last night he won the UEFA men’s coach of the year and absolutely deserved it. Nobody had a bigger impact last season than he had.
“I said it before, a combination of financial wealth and football knowledge is always a threat for all of us. That’s how it is.”
The respect between the two German coaches is mutual, with Tuchel waxing lyrical about Klopp in his press conference.
The Blues manager said: "He [Klopp] has my full respect, he is one of the best managers in the world.
"He has the ability to make huge footprints and impact at any club. We need to be careful when he talks too good about you!"
