Jurgen Klopp and Seamus Coleman reportedly had a heated conversation during the first Merseyside derby of the season.
The table-topping Toffees welcomed the defending Premier League champions to Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
As is always the case when Everton and Liverpool collide, the fixture was a tempestuous affair that provided plenty of controversial moments.
Klopp wasn't shy in giving his thoughts on multiple incidents from the touchline, gesticulating and repeatedly making his voice heard in the empty Goodison.
And, according to reports, his remonstrating eventually drew the ire of Toffees skipper Coleman.
That's according to the Liverpool Echo, who claim the pair became embroiled in a "less-than-civil discussion" after Klopp vented his frustration at an incident which took place in the second half.
It's unknown what the pair's disagreement was about, although there were plenty of contentious moments for them to debate.
The first of Merseyside derby of the season ended in a 2-2 draw, with a stupendous header from England international Dominic Calvert-Lewin salvaging a point for the home side.
Liverpool thought they'd snatched victory in the final minute of stoppage time through Jordan Henderson, but the Reds skipper's last-gasp strike was ruled out as Sadio Mane was adjudged to have been offside in the build-up.
Klopp was furious with the decision, saying: "The only situation I saw back, only briefly, in the dressing room was the Henderson goal and the pass with Sadio.
"And I didn't see offside, sorry. Maybe somebody will explain it to me.
"The picture I saw, it was not offside. But it was offside because somebody decided it.
Liverpool will be back in action on Wednesday night, travelling to Amsterdam to take on Ajax in their opening Champions League group match of the season.
