JURGEN KLOPP insists there is no gulf in quality between Liverpool and Rangers.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side were swept aside at ease by the Reds at Anfield on matchday three of the Champions League group stages.
A Trent Alexander-Arnold free-kick and Mohamed Salah penalty was enough to secure the 2-0 win for the Premier League giants, who moved onto six points in the section, with Napoli topping the group on nine.
The result meant that Rangers remained firmly rooted to the bottom of the group on zero points.
In truth, Rangers struggled to lay a glove in the Battle of Britain.
Klopp was asked if there was a gulf in class between his team and the Scottish giants.
However, he refuted that suggestion. He replied: "No. I don’t recognise that. Rangers is a really good team doing really well who had an exceptional season in Europe last season and were unlucky when they lost the final.
"They then qualified for the Champions League. It is all possible. You can’t have it all in one. You have to have time to adapt in Europe.
"I am not sure if this is the wrong press conference to say the word Celtic. You might all stand up and go.
"But both of these clubs made a big step in the last few years. And if you want you can talk about the gulf but you saw how close they came and that’s the way I would look at it. But you are right, it is not really my problem."
