Jurgen Klopp in agreement with furious Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over Man Utd vs Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp has sympathy for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and disagrees with the rescheduled date for Manchester United's Premier League clash against Liverpool.

United have been forced to play four times in seven days after last Sunday's fixture against their rivals was postponed due to protests against the club's Glazer ownership.

After sealing a spot in the Europa League final on Thursday, United are now facing a punishing period where they face Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon before hosting Leicester City on Tuesday.

Less than 50 hours later, the rearranged fixture between the Red Devils and Liverpool will take place, causing a huge burden on Solskjaer's players.

Solskjaer wasn't impressed with the clash being pushed back just 11 days, claiming those who made the decision don't have an understanding of the sport.

“It’s unheard of, It’s made by people who’ve never played football at this level," he said

"Physically impossible for the players to do it after being here – doing Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday is impossible.

“We’ve not been dealt a good hand, but we’ll play it as well as we can.

"We’re gonna need everyone in these four games and we’ve just got to see how everyone is Sunday morning, we play here and then 2pm on Sunday, so that’s a short turnaround, but we’ll have to be ready and that’s just how it is.”

Liverpool, meanwhile, have also been affected by the new date in their outside hopes for Champions League qualification.

Klopp's men travel to Old Trafford before Saturday's home game against Southampton and the German boss revealed the two clubs had little input in the decision.

"We were informed about the process, but nothing to do with it really,’" Klopp said.

"Yes, I feel sympathy for him [Solskjaer], it’s not how it should be.

"But it’s not good for us as well, to be honest.

"I would’ve preferred to play the game last week.

"‘Now we have five games in the last two weeks so that’s not really cool as well. But that’s how it is.

"Nothing to complain about or whatever, it’s just the situation."
