Jurgen Klopp has already spotted his next Diogo Jota as Liverpool line up summer transfers

Everybody knows what Jurgen Klopp's brand of football looks like.

The German is renowned for his intense, offensive and emotional playing style, having successfully installed his principles into his players at Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Mainz.

One of the many perks associated with having such a clearly defined identity is recruitment, as it tends to make it easier to identify players who are suitable for a refined and established style of play.

Klopp's transfer dealings have been unsurprisingly strong throughout his career, especially at Anfield considering the number of world-class players within his current squad.

The 54 year-old knows what he wants from his team, which allows him to notice players who seem to be shaped to represent him, such as Diogo Jota.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool's weekend clash with Wolves at Molineux, Klopp described Jota as a player who he had previously admired for some time before targeting.

"Diogo is an incredible package. Personality, really smart, organised, structured in a nice way," he said. "His career, I remember when I saw him first time I thought he'd be a player for me. So intense in all situations, technically on a great level. Incredible quality."

The Portuguese forward is not the first player who Klopp has earmarked as a suitable talent to execute his football, with Kevin De Bruyne and Christian Eriksen also catching his attention before their high-profile moves to the Premier League.

Klopp was also aware of Sadio Mane before bringing him to Merseyside, having met the Senegalese forward for the first time while in charge of BVB. Joel Matip, who was one of his first signings at Liverpool, was another who Klopp picked up on during his time in the Bundesliga.

When the Cameroonian joined on a free transfer, the Reds boss said: "He is a top-class centre-half, very young but experienced. You don't have that too often. To be honest, when I had my break and I thought about my next club, I should think about Joel, if there was a need."

Klopp knows his players when he sees them on the pitch, even if they are sporting different colours. With a potential squad overhaul of sorts lined up for the summer, his eye for a player will have to be as sharp as ever in the coming months.
