Jurgen Klopp has already issued brutal verdict on Ivan Perisic amid Arsenal and Tottenham links

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both 'looking' at Ivan Perisic's situation this summer ahead of a possible transfer.

Perisic is currently at Inter Milan, where his contract is due to expire in 12 months' time, and the newly-crowned Serie A champions could be tempted to cash in on the 32-year-old.

The Gunners, Spurs and Manchester United have all been looking at signing the Inter star. The report also claims he prefers a move to England or Spain despite rumours he could be set for a return to Germany.

The Croatia international has enjoyed a fantastic career, where he has won three league titles in two different countries - Germany, the Bundesliga with both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, as well as the Serie A last season with Inter.

During his days in Dortmund, Perisic established himself as one of Europe's finest talents with Jurgen Klopp managing him in his one-and-a-half years with the club.

However, the two came to blows after Perisic went public with his frustrations about receiving no support from Klopp.

The former Dortmund man said to ESPN in 2012: "I cannot be pleased with my situation at the club. I don't get a lot of time on the pitch, very much like last year.

”We have no relationship. He is the best coach in Germany right now, the number one, everyone accepts the subordinate role.

"And rightly so, what we achieved in Dortmund over the past few years is unique. The atmosphere in the team is perfect, but he has three to four players with whom he discusses things. The rest of us are pros, doing their job."

Former Dortmund boss, but now Liverpool manager, Klopp, hit back at Perisic for his 'childish' comments.

"A professional footballer is unhappy when he is not playing," he was quoted as saying by Goal. "If he then keeps his mouth shut, it is better for him at the end. Complaining in public is childish."

Perisic, though, when speaking in 2019, thanked Klopp for playing a big part in his career.

He said to The Athletic: "I wasn't ready for it. I was not used to defending from the front. I didn't even know that it was a two-way game.

“Jurgen taught me modern football. I have to say thank you to him for that. We won the double in the first year but when I saw that my situation didn’t change in the second season, I wanted to leave.

“I told him I wanted to be regular starter, and he said: ‘I respect your decision, we will find a solution’.”
