New Liverpool signing Kaide Gordon was among a number of youngsters to be given the chance to impress Jurgen Klopp on Thursday.
Gordon has been featuring for the under-18s under Marc Bridge-Wilkinson since arriving last month from Derby County for an initial fee of £1million.
And the 17-year-old had an early opportunity to demonstrate his wares in front of Klopp when joining a group of youngsters training alongside several first-team players at Kirkby.
U18s regulars Mateusz Musialowski - the 17-year-old Polish forward who scored twice in the 6-0 FA Youth Cup win over Sutton United on Tuesday - Melkamu Frauendorf and James Balagizi also featured.
Teenage full-back duo Owen Beck and Conor Bradley, who have starred for the U23s this season, were also involved, along with Jake Cain, Ben Woodburn, Luis Longstaff and Jakub Ojrzynski, who was on the bench for the first team at Sheffield United last month.
The involvement of so many youngsters underlined the value of Liverpool having moved their first-team operations on to the same site as the Academy.
Several senior players were given time off with the Reds without a game this weekend ahead of the international break.
