Jurgen Klopp gives Liverpool schoolboy the perfect Christmas present

These photos show how Jurgen Klopp and his table-topping Reds made the Christmas of a schoolboy from West Derby.

Thomas Hurst was at Alder Hey for a check-up on his asthma when his doctor told him the European Cup was in the building.

The seven-year-old soon realised his heroes would be at the children's hospital too - and was outside to greet them on arrival.

This led to this lovely footage of Klopp greeting the Reds fan as if he already knew him.

His dad, also called Thomas, said his son was "besotted" with football - and the Reds.

The 38-year-old added: "He went round to the front of the building and, as he turned the corner, Klopp had got off the bus and hugged him. He's just such a nice man, he was absolutely brilliant.

"Thomas was starstruck, he still can't believe it.

"He met Salah and couldn't even speak to him."

Thomas was able to get photos with Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Xherdan Shaqiri, Roberto Firmino and his favourite player - Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The touching moment came during LFC's annual visit to the hospital .

After training at Melwood, Klopp and his players made the short journey to meet with patients and staff.

They visited three wards at the hospital, delivering LFC goody bags, chatting with patients and their families, signing autographs and posing for photographs.
