Jurgen Klopp gives Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson injury update as he makes Liverpool admission

Jurgen Klopp has played down injury fears to both Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson after Liverpool secured qualification to the last 16 of the Champions League.

Curtis Jones's second-half goal was enough to give the Reds a 1-0 win over Ajax at Anfield to see them into the knockout stages as winners of Group D.

Left-back Robertson gave the Reds a scare when he went down in the first half with an ankle complaint. After the physio had strapped up his left foot, the Scotland captain completed the game.

Meanwhile Klopp said that captain Henderson had been caught in the back during the game against the Dutch side, but the Liverpool manager doesn't believe either issue will add to what is already a massive absent list at Anfield.

"Robbo took a massive knock on his ankle," Klopp said. "He needed strapping at half time.

"Hendo had a proper knock on his back. Gini played game number, I don't want to say it because I just hope he can carry on.

"[Robertson and Henderson] both played through it so I would say now we have two days more than we had last week until the next game, so I don't know exactly.

"Something might show up tomorrow slightly different but at the moment I am positive for it. But I don't know, but that is a problem for the next few days and not tonight."

Pre-match, Alisson Becker added to Klopp's injury woes after he was ruled out for much of the next two weeks with a hamstring issue.

He joins the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri, James Milner, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thiago Alcantara, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita on the treatment table.

Meanwhile Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk remain out after both undergoing surgery in recent weeks.

Klopp added: "The kids were exceptional, the front three defended from all directions, the centre-backs were there when we needed them.

"It's not about playing your best football now, it's about...this is the situation, this is what we make of it and in the end, we are top of the group on match-day five.

"We have never done that before so that is really good and for us, unbelievably good."
