Jurgen Klopp does not believe that Rafa Benitez's departure from Newcastle United this summer automatically suggests Liverpool will be in for an easier game this weekend.
Benitez had all four sides of Anfield chanting his name on the Magpies' last visit to the famous old stadium, but United were beaten 4-0.
Steve Bruce is the next man to try to change Newcastle's luck against the Reds with a 25-year wait for a win not expected to end this weekend in the eyes of most pundits.
Klopp warned: "Newcastle are good, it's been really difficult for them with Rafa leaving.
"For Steve Bruce, for sure has a difficult job, but he has done fantastic so far but they have kept the style of last season.
"They sold Rondon, got Joelinton and he is similar.
"They have speed for counters."
And Klopp is not expecting an easy game, despite some bookies handing Newcastle long odds.
The German boss said: "It won't be easy. People expect it, probably, but I am really impressed by the solutions they have found so far."
Klopp's side have not lost at Anfield since 2017 but he said: "We don't think about it.
"Steve Bruce has said it already, records are there to be broken."
Bruce is full of respect for Liverpool but reminded his team they have beaten Tottenham Hotspur AND Manchester City in 2019.
He said: "We are going to the European champions and they are as good a team as you will ever play against, so we'll have to defend well.
"It's always been a big fixture and you want to go there and take them on. It's what we're in it for. The core of the squad have been together a couple of years and they're a really honest and genuine group.
"When you've got that, you're capable of doing anything. They've gone to Spurs and won and they beat Man City last year, so they've got it in them."
