Jurgen Klopp explains what made Mohamed Salah 'angry' after Liverpool's win over Everton

Jurgen Klopp has said that Mohamed Salah was ‘angry’ after Liverpool’s win over Everton.

The Reds claimed a 4-1 victory over their city rivals in the Premier League on Wednesday night, in the 339th instalment of the Merseyside derby.

Mohamed Salah scored a brace and was supported by strikes from Jordan Henderson and Diogo Jota in a memorable win at Goodison Park.

It was the first time that Liverpool have beaten their rivals from across Stanley Park away from home since 2016, having only won one of their previous nine outings at Goodison.

Salah’s brace took his goal tally to 19 for the season in all competitions and 13 in the Premier League, extending his lead in the Golden Boot race.

Speaking at full-time, Klopp explained why Salah was ‘angry’ despite scoring twice and Liverpool winning with relative comfort.

“Crazy,” Klopp told Amazon Prime, when informed of Salah’s goal statistics from this season.

The Liverpool boss added: “He (Salah) was angry after the game.

“He wanted to score a third one, I don’t know exactly which situation but who cares.

“[It’s] all fine. That’s how strikers are.”

Salah’s other notable opportunity to open the scoring came in the opening minutes, but he volleyed a cross from Jota over the bar within the six-yard box.
