Jurgen Klopp explains Liverpool owner John Henry tunnel exchange after Manchester United victory

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed not even the club's hierarchy are becoming carried away by the Reds' outstanding Premier League season.

The European and world champions are 13 points clear at the summit with two games in hand going into Thursday's visit to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Liverpool principal owner John Henry was in attendance with wife Linda Pizzuti at Anfield for Sunday's 2-0 Premier League win over bitter North West rivals Manchester United, which extended the Reds' record-breaking start to 21 wins in 22 top-flight games.

Footage released after the match showed Klopp embracing Henry in the tunnel following the triumph, with the owner heard saying "wow - amazing!".

And now the Reds boss has elaborated on the exchange between the duo and how Henry is echoing the rest of the Anfield outfit by staying grounded despite the remarkable season to date.

"He was not too excited, he was happy," said Klopp. "I did not know they were there.

"I saw Linda before the game on the touchline so after the game around the interviews, John came by and it was a nice surprise.

"He’s obviously quite positive in the moment. He was not going nuts or whatever. He did say ‘wow!’

"He loved the game. It was a good game."
