Jurgen Klopp admitted he does not know of another player like Roberto Firmino after the Brazilian's hat-trick of assists against Southampton.
The 28-year-old forward continues to come up with the goods for his Liverpool teammates while not always taking the headlines.
His ability to knit Liverpool's attacks together is revered around Anfield, and his latest showing only added further to his hero status.
It's 308 days since Firmino's last goal at Anfield, but that matters little to boss Klopp, who hailed his frontman after Saturday's win.
“He is [unique],” Klopp told the official Liverpool website. “He is just exceptional, a very football-smart person, obviously.
“In the first half, in between a really tight formation of Southampton, the way he drops and keeps the ball, how he makes things happen is very special, absolutely.
“Then even a player like Bobby needs an address where he can send the ball, because he cannot take the ball and turn and run alone.
“How he uses the skills of his mates is special. I do not know a player like him, that is true.”
Firmino helped get Liverpool up and running against a plucky Saints side, who had put the league leaders on the back foot on several occasions in the first half.
An exquisite back heel to teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain set him off to fire Liverpool in front.
Jordan Henderson was the fortunate beneficiary soon after, as Firmino laid the ball on a plate for his captain to finish.
Not content with a brace, Firmino repeated the favour for Mohamed Salah to round off the scoring late on.
Henderson was equally as complimentary of Firmino at the final whistle.
"Some of the stuff he does is madness really!" he said..
"But he's another outstanding player for us and it was another big performance from him."
